Pajama Sunday | Springing Ahead

Pajama Sunday | Springing Ahead

Let it be Sunday!  It has been awhile since I wrote a Pajama Sunday post, hasn’t it? March turned out to be an eventful month. I am happy to be lounging in my bathrobe enjoying a cup of Earl Grey tea while listening to French Cafe music on Pandora. I have nothing on the agenda today (well, not a lot). Last Sunday, close friends and I celebrated their daughter’s 1st birthday at Alice’s Tea Cup on the Upper East Side. As I’m sure you can tell from the Mimosas shown above Alice’s Tea Cup is adult AND kid-friendly. From the mismatched vintage… Continue Reading »

3 Spring Trends to Add to Your Wardrobe

3 Spring Trends to Add to Your Wardrobe

Happy first week of spring, everyone! Crack the windows open. Change the linens. Plant a few seeds and repot the plants that have been growing all winter long. That is exactly what I did this past week. You know the start of a new season excites me, especially when it comes to our wardrobes. I’m so ready to put away my Sorel boots until next winter. Ironic enough I spent last week’s snow day shopping spring collections for clients and YOU. Trends come and go. My motto to seasonal trends is invest in the trends that compliment your personal style. I don’t believe in buying a trendy piece… Continue Reading »

Fashionable yet Comfortable Loungewear

Fashionable yet Comfortable Loungewear

Today’s snow storm in New York City motivated me to write this blog post. I have been asked before to recommend fashionable and comfortable loungewear. Thanks to Stella, I found myself with some down time and put together recommended loungewear brands that you can shop from. True to my New England roots, I highly recommend a pair of navy stripes and/or plaid pajamas (on sale!) to be added to your nighttime ensemble. I am a HUGE advocate on wearing something that makes you feel good when you go to bed. It depresses me when people tell me they wear old college sweats (or worse,… Continue Reading »

Club Monaco Spring 2017

Club Monaco Spring 2017

Spring is in the air! It’s currently 68 degrees in New York City as I write this.  I figured there is no better day than today to share photos of the Club Monaco Spring 2017 collection I saw during New York Fashion Week. See now, buy now – this collection is available in stores as we speak. The collection’s colorful patterns and peasant details were inspired by the documentary Latcho Drom, which follows a family of travelers from Romania to India and pays homage to timeless travel celebrated through song and dance. Their journey influenced this season’s collection. The event took place at… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | Treat Yourself

Pajama Sunday | Treat Yourself

“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.”  – Oscar Wilde I am huge advocate of treating yourself, especially for special occassions. Why not treat yourself to a gift (or two) for Valentine’s Day? Personally, I think the month of February should be marketed as a month of self-love as well. This is my favorite time of year to splurge on my favorite Diptyque candle, Baies. Lately I have been dreaming up plans to re-decorate my apartment. I am in the process of turning my guest bedroom into my home office space (sorry, out of town visitors!). I have been… Continue Reading »

Shop The City: Westfield World Trade Center

Shop The City: Westfield World Trade Center

The shopping mecca and tourist destination that is Westfield World Trade Center opened in August 2016. Of course I had to check it out having walked by the construction for years and years. Westfield World Trade Center was built to replace The Mall in One World Trade Center that was destroyed on 9/11. Developers were determined to rebuild and replace The Mall with a bigger and better shopping experience. The architecture is spacious and offers an upgraded shopping experience as opposed to an average shopping mall. The center is called the ‘Oculus’ which is smooth white marble, which is designed to make you feel… Continue Reading »

Mad About Plaid

Mad About Plaid

There is just something about plaid, especially this time of year. It may be my New England roots but you can’t go wrong with a classic plaid print. I am fan of the plaid Rails Hunter Button Downs (shown below). I’m picky when it comes to plaid patterns and Rails Hunter gets it right. And who doesn’t love a good Buffalo check jacket? Classic. I never tire of this print. There are so many good plaid pieces out there right now. How about rocking a plaid suit to your holiday party? I totally would. Or this Bottega Veneta Plaid Midi Dress with Sequined Bustier is right up… Continue Reading »

The Best of Black Friday

The Best of Black Friday

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with loved ones and good food. My favorite thing to do this weekend is to stay in my pajamas (and watch Hallmark movies. Don’t judge!). Thanksgiving weekend is a great reason to enjoy much needed down time. Therefore, you will NOT catch me out dealing with Black Friday crowds. Heck no. Thanks to online shopping you can still reap the benefits of the Black Friday deals. Feeling overwhelmed by your inbox full of sales? Don’t fret, I have made a catalog of the best of Black Friday wardrobe picks from Nordstrom, The Outnet and Neiman Marcus that you… Continue Reading »

The Golden Age of Retail

The Golden Age of Retail

The other day I had to go to Macy’s in Herald Square to replace a particular pair of jeans I bought two years ago. I cringe, absolutely cringe, when I think of going to Macy’s on 34th Street. As you can imagine this Manhattan flagship is quite the tourist destination. It has never been an enjoyable shopping experience for me so I stay away from it. However I can’t find my favorite pair Calvin Klein jeans any where else. I’ve even checked other locations out of state! One early Saturday morning I decided enough was enough. I am going to head… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | Love Always Wins

Pajama Sunday | Love Always Wins

Phew, what a week! Needless to say there are all sorts of emotions happening across the United States right now. I must say I was in shock when I woke up on Wednesday. Complete shock. This blog is by no means a platform for delving into my political views and I respect those of others, but I must say what got me through this past week was seeing people speak up for what is fair and what is right. It gives me hope that for the next four years we will all look out for each other. Love always wins. This week marked… Continue Reading »
