Pajama Sunday | Bucket List

Pajama Sunday | Bucket List

“I’ve got that summertime, summertime sadness”  -Lana Del Ray (remember this song from last summer? ha!) Why does the summer always go by so fast? I was able to relish it the last two weeks in August with time spent in New England. Also, I was able to cross off a major Bucket List goal. Thanks to my good friend Adam I finally learned how to surf. We went surfing a couple of times in Newport, RI at sunset. It was surreal. A little nerve racking at first…yes, I had thoughts of sharks and what not…but there is nothing more thrilling than… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | I Am Not Your Guru

Pajama Sunday | I Am Not Your Guru

Recently I watched the Tony Robbin’s documentary  I Am Not Your Guru on Netflix. I cannot stop recommending this documentary to everyone I know! Now let me just warn you that it gets deeeeeep. It will probably bring you to tears, but well worth watching. I love Robbin’s no nonsense attitude and approach towards life. My favorite line of his is  “Life is not happening to us, it’s happening for us.” Basically implying that if we would all stop and take a responsibility for our role in our current situations we would be living in a totally different world. It is HOT in the… Continue Reading »

10 Fun Facts About Me

10 Fun Facts About Me

Travels The two most memorable trips I have taken so far are ringing in the New Year in Lima, Peru and traveling by myself for the first time to Paris, France on my 30th birthday. Favorite Books I am an avid reader and L-O-V-E all types of books. You will find me carrying a book every where I go. The books I highly recommend reading at some point in your life are The Woman I Wanted to Be by Diane Von Furstenburg, Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. Favorite Line from a Movie  “Trying to be a man is a waste of… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | Quality over Quantity

Pajama Sunday | Quality over Quantity

My Pajama Sunday mornings have turned into evenings. As soon as the sun is up I am out the door to enjoy the beach or Central Park. I like keeping my Sundays open in the summer with no schedule or to-do list in sight. There’s something about the summer that encourages my overachieving personality to slow down. Perhaps it’s the warmer weather and longer days. I hope you are enjoying every minute of this summer, too. Last week I had the pleasure of being a guest on The Simple Sophisticate podcast. Author, blogger and creator of The Simply Luxurious Life, Shannon… Continue Reading »

How to Remain Fashionable in Athletic Attire

How to Remain Fashionable in Athletic Attire

Staying fit has become a big part of our lifestyle, especially with the rise and influence of activewear in the past couple of years. I received this question and decided to answer it here on the blog because I think a lot of you can relate. Tiffani, I have been dying for an opportunity to ask a pro about my daily wardrobe.  Thank you for the opportunity. I am a 48 year old woman, Pilates instructor business owner, wife and mother. I have a hard time finding the right outfits that I can teach and work, run errands and not look like I… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | The Woman I Wanted to Be

Pajama Sunday | The Woman I Wanted to Be

Memorial Day weekend was spent doing my favorite things; traveling to visit a good friend, leisurely time by the pool and at the beach – all accompanied with a good book. I devoured The Woman I Wanted to Be by Diane Von Furstenburg. I could not put it down. After reading this memoir filled with words of wisdom I want to run out and buy a copy for my sister and close girlfriends. I highly recommend adding this book to your summer reading list. I could go on and on about how great she is, instead I leave you with a few… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | Summer Ready

Pajama Sunday | Summer Ready

I finally put a dent in that pile of magazines. It’s not even 9AM yet and I feel so accomplished. There is just something about Sundays! I hope you’re enjoying a cup of coffee or tea in your pajamas like I am. It’s hard to believe we will be ushering in summer in a couple of weeks. Time to step up my game. I have a trunk of summer clothes to unpack, sunscreen to buy and sunglasses that need to be fixed. I probably will save this list of to-do’s for the latter part of my day. The sun is shining and… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | First Monday in May

Pajama Sunday | First Monday in May

Rise and shine! It’s safe to say spring is here – and with that comes spring cleaning. I’ve tackled a couple of painting projects that I had been procrastinating and slowly editing my wardrobe & book collection. I have a (semi) milestone birthday approaching next week so I am feeling the need to purge what no longer speaks to me. Leave space for new energy and experiences. AMEN. Spring in general brings new energy. Everyone is coming out of their caves, the days are getting longer, etc. The Tribeca Film Festival is happening right now in New York. One of the… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday

Pajama Sunday

“Appreciate what you have now, for it was once what you had hoped for.”   I love this quote I just read in The Simply Luxurious Life weekly email. Minutes before reading this I was racking my brain of the list of things I wanted to get done today. This quote made me pause for a moment and realize that it will all get done. Maybe not today but in due time. It’s Pajama Sunday after all! We need to take time to relax and enjoy the seeds we sowed yesterday today. By default I am always plotting and planning for the future…. Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday

Pajama Sunday

It is just me or can you sense that spring is in the air? As I write this I am sitting in my living room with the windows open listening to the birds chirping outside. Ahh, I am SO ready for a spring awakening. Today is a much needed day of rest for me. Between getting over the flu last week and trying to catch up on life this week I am in need of a Pajama Sunday. With that being said, I am still on a high from the personal shopping session I had with a new client yesterday…. Continue Reading »
