During Bridal Fashion Week I was introduced to Los Angeles based designer Sabrina Dahan. I previewed her collection at the London Hotel and it was nothing short of glamour. Dahan was a designer for Monique Lhullier before branching out and launching her own bridal collection. Dahan’s bridal gowns are embroidered masterpieces that pay attention to fit and details. The gowns I previewed were exquisite and displayed effortless luxury. This collection reminds me of the modern princess bride. No gown was too puffy but portrayed a princess-like feel. Effortless luxury. And yes, the gown above has pockets!! For those brides who are not… Continue Reading »
I had the pleasure of meeting with the gals at Our Story Bridal. A high-end consignment wedding dress and gown boutique located in midtown Manhattan. The owners Jacquelyn and Ana decided to open a preowned designer wedding dress shop in an intimate environment. To their surprise there was nothing like this yet in New York City. I stumbled upon Our Story Bridal when they were featured in New York Magazine Weddings. A great resource for my bridal clients I contacted them immediately to setup an appointment . Our Story Bridal has a wide arrange of major designer dresses from 50-60%… Continue Reading »
Love is in the air! The holidays are what the industry calls “engagement season”. Over the past week I finally had a chance to catch up on a pile of bridal magazines. I was inspired by two weddings I came across where the brides choose to wear color instead of the traditional white gown. I noticed red is a popular choice of brides – and I LOVE IT. The bride below is a wearing Alexandar McQueen. The couple’s wedding took place in the fall on the rooftop of the Gramercy Park Hotel. Gorgeous! The bride’s vibrant gown shows her taste, class and timeless… Continue Reading »
Recently I came across the California-based bridal collection, Odylyne: The Ceremony by Stephanie White. During Bridal Fashion Week in October they made their way to New York to showcase the new collection. The presentation was stunning and the gowns did not disappoint. The collection speaks to those with a bohemian and carefree style. However, there is nothing carefree about the details that went into creating each of the bridal gowns. Odylyne: The Collection is currently available in the US at bridal shops on the West Coast (San Francisco, Los Angeles and Venice) as well as in Dallas, Texas, Huntsville, Alabama and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
I always look forward to stopping by Antonio Gual’s studio during Bridal Fashion Week. He believes everyone should be able to experience true couture for such an important milestone in one’s life. One of my favorite gowns is this one is called Dahlia. The Persephone gown paired with the long sleeve silk crepe capelet is a showstopper! Visit Tulle New York website to see more of Antonio Gual’s collection.
I had the pleasure of attending Francesca Miranda’s Bridal Fall 2017 presentation. This collection is inspired by fairytales. The Gramercy Park Hotel Rooftop complete with Apple Cider Mimosas set a magical tone for this event. Francesca Miranda is a renowned Latin American evening wear and bridal design based in Columbia. Detailed to perfection, the Francesca Miranda collection is handmade by the talented hands of Colombian artisans. Each gown in this collection alludes a deep sense of romance including hand embroidered butterflies, meticulously placed pearl accents and French lace appliqués. I must say this collection was one of my favorites this season. Her gowns… Continue Reading »
There is nothing I love more than when a bridal party nails it with a unique yet cohesive look. Matchy-matchy looks for bridal parties are taking a backseat. Let’s face it, there is NO one dress that looks good on everyone. Creating a mismatched look for your bridesmaids is becoming the norm, but not everyone gets it. Below are a few different ways on how to approach creating mismatched looks for your bridesmaids. Different Dresses in the Same Color Palette Molly Sim’s bridal party shown below is one of my all time favorites. Can you say ‘NAILED IT’? Everyone looks great individually… Continue Reading »
You know I always love sharing unique bridal collections when I come across them. Odylyne: The Ceremony by designer Stephanie White recently caught my eye. This collection speaks to my free-spirit brides. The collection features exquisite gowns with intricate detailing that pushes the limits. The Romantics Collection This collection features bohemian style gowns made with 100% silk and/or lace. Some gowns are dip dyed in blush or blue hues to give it an extra special look. Of course you can opt to not have your gown dyed if you prefer white. Here are a few my favorites from this collection…. Continue Reading »
Back in April during Bridal Market Week I made my way downtown to the Gramercy Park Hotel to preview one of my favorite bridal collections. I have mentioned and shared Lakum here on the blog in the past. Excuse the delay but I am excited to finally share with you the Lakum Spring 2017 collection. And of course, it does not disappoint. Designers Sathya Balakumar and Heather Green nail it when it comes to the modern bride. For this collection they created one to two-piece gowns, pant suits, jumpsuits and rompers. They understand their bride wants options – unique options! The bride… Continue Reading »
I have come across the perfect wedding keepsake for a bride. A chic, carry-all lined in velvet for her heels, jewelry, makeup or lingerie by Trousseau & Co. Cleverly created by Joy Proctor, a wedding planner who was tired of seeing her brides carry their precious heirlooms in a disarray and thrown about the bridal suite. What I love most is the nod to history. The term trousseau refers to the clothes, household linen, and other belongings collected by a bride for her marriage. The classic design by Trousseau & Co. along with quality gold hardware make this carry-all perfect for not only your… Continue Reading »
