Pajama Sunday | While We Were Young

Pajama Sunday | While We Were Young

Last Sunday I met friends at While We Were Young in the West Village for brunch. You may or may not have seen this place pop up on your Instagram feed. I kept hearing great things about it so I decided to check it out. It’s A-DOR-ABLE. Especially with the nice weather we have been having in NYC this is the perfect place to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere and food were great. They don’t take reservations so my friends & I were the first ones in line before they opened at noon. And of course I just had to snap photos… Continue Reading »

Wardrobe Maintenance: Tips to Make Your Clothes Last Longer

Wardrobe Maintenance: Tips to Make Your Clothes Last Longer

We all know how much of a pain it is to replace that beloved sweater or pair of pants that fit you just right. I want to share with you a few wardrobe maintenance ‘tricks of the trade’ on how to make your clothes last longer. Avoid Sweater Shoulders Use thick wooden cut hangers coat hangers to hang sweaters. You can also double up two thinners sweaters on one hanger. Personally, I like to fold mine in a draw because sweater shoulders drive me NUTS. Combat Odors  Put vodka (use the cheap stuff) in a spray bottle and spray arm… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | Springing Ahead

Pajama Sunday | Springing Ahead

Let it be Sunday!  It has been awhile since I wrote a Pajama Sunday post, hasn’t it? March turned out to be an eventful month. I am happy to be lounging in my bathrobe enjoying a cup of Earl Grey tea while listening to French Cafe music on Pandora. I have nothing on the agenda today (well, not a lot). Last Sunday, close friends and I celebrated their daughter’s 1st birthday at Alice’s Tea Cup on the Upper East Side. As I’m sure you can tell from the Mimosas shown above Alice’s Tea Cup is adult AND kid-friendly. From the mismatched vintage… Continue Reading »

3 Spring Trends to Add to Your Wardrobe

3 Spring Trends to Add to Your Wardrobe

Happy first week of spring, everyone! Crack the windows open. Change the linens. Plant a few seeds and repot the plants that have been growing all winter long. That is exactly what I did this past week. You know the start of a new season excites me, especially when it comes to our wardrobes. I’m so ready to put away my Sorel boots until next winter. Ironic enough I spent last week’s snow day shopping spring collections for clients and YOU. Trends come and go. My motto to seasonal trends is invest in the trends that compliment your personal style. I don’t believe in buying a trendy piece… Continue Reading »

How to Shop Luxury Consignment Boutiques

How to Shop Luxury Consignment Boutiques

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon Designer Revival (324 East 81st Street) while gallivanting around the Upper East Side. This little gem was one of the first luxury consignment shops in the city. In 2015, new owner Tiffany Keriakos bought a fresh and exciting new look to the boutique, all while adhering to the vision the boutique has instilled for many years: making women feel beautiful. I must admit I have been skeptical about shopping at second-hand boutiques in the past. My mind was forever changed  when I entered Michael’s for the first time a few years ago. Low and behold in front of me were designer clothing… Continue Reading »

Fashionable yet Comfortable Loungewear

Fashionable yet Comfortable Loungewear

Today’s snow storm in New York City motivated me to write this blog post. I have been asked before to recommend fashionable and comfortable loungewear. Thanks to Stella, I found myself with some down time and put together recommended loungewear brands that you can shop from. True to my New England roots, I highly recommend a pair of navy stripes and/or plaid pajamas (on sale!) to be added to your nighttime ensemble. I am a HUGE advocate on wearing something that makes you feel good when you go to bed. It depresses me when people tell me they wear old college sweats (or worse,… Continue Reading »

Club Monaco Spring 2017

Club Monaco Spring 2017

Spring is in the air! It’s currently 68 degrees in New York City as I write this.  I figured there is no better day than today to share photos of the Club Monaco Spring 2017 collection I saw during New York Fashion Week. See now, buy now – this collection is available in stores as we speak. The collection’s colorful patterns and peasant details were inspired by the documentary Latcho Drom, which follows a family of travelers from Romania to India and pays homage to timeless travel celebrated through song and dance. Their journey influenced this season’s collection. The event took place at… Continue Reading »

New York Fashion Week Designers to Watch

New York Fashion Week Designers to Watch

Today wraps up New York Fashion Week Fall 2017 season. If you haven’t been following along on social media I will fill you in on the designers you should be on the look out for. The first designer I would suggest is Jonathan Simkhai. I have been seeing his collection in stores and online the past few seasons. His designs are meant to redefine the 21st century women’s wardrobe. His designs embody ease, confidence and modern versatility. I must say I have loved everything I see from him. I would love a piece of his textured clothing to land in my… Continue Reading »

Pajama Sunday | Treat Yourself

Pajama Sunday | Treat Yourself

“To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.”  – Oscar Wilde I am huge advocate of treating yourself, especially for special occassions. Why not treat yourself to a gift (or two) for Valentine’s Day? Personally, I think the month of February should be marketed as a month of self-love as well. This is my favorite time of year to splurge on my favorite Diptyque candle, Baies. Lately I have been dreaming up plans to re-decorate my apartment. I am in the process of turning my guest bedroom into my home office space (sorry, out of town visitors!). I have been… Continue Reading »

Shop The City: Westfield World Trade Center

Shop The City: Westfield World Trade Center

The shopping mecca and tourist destination that is Westfield World Trade Center opened in August 2016. Of course I had to check it out having walked by the construction for years and years. Westfield World Trade Center was built to replace The Mall in One World Trade Center that was destroyed on 9/11. Developers were determined to rebuild and replace The Mall with a bigger and better shopping experience. The architecture is spacious and offers an upgraded shopping experience as opposed to an average shopping mall. The center is called the ‘Oculus’ which is smooth white marble, which is designed to make you feel… Continue Reading »
