Winter Whites

Winter Whites

Back in the day wearing white after Labor Day was considered a fashion faux pas. Pfft, not anymore. I made the case for monochromatic dressing not too long ago. Now hear me out – embrace winter whites! Winter whites are not the stark whites you find in the spring and summer months. A winter white hue has a “warmer” tone to it. I love the look of winter whites. It’s a cozy look, don’t you think? Not to mention an easy look to pull off during those seemingly long winter months.

Shop NYC: Henri Bendel is Closing

Shop NYC: Henri Bendel is Closing

If you haven’t heard all ready the iconic Henri Bendel flagship store located on Fifth Avenue is closing at the end of the month. I paid one last visit to Bendel’s before the doors close.  It has been interesting watching Bendel’s evolve over the past fourteen years that I have been living in New York City. If you are not familiar with Henri Bendel’s this article from The New York Times will give you a good idea of the legacy. My first experience of Bendel’s over a decade ago was magnificent! The sprawling four levels filled with the most decadent… Continue Reading »

Monochromatic Outfit Ideas

Monochromatic Outfit Ideas

The start of the winter season has me craving easy, comfortable layers while looking put together. Let’s embrace monochromatic dressing, shall we? I find there is something sophisticated and bold about dressing head-to-toe in one color. Talk about commitment. A bonus about approaching this way of dressing is that it’s mindless/effortless. Get up in the morning, pick a color and then find the coordinating pieces in your closet. Viola!  Being the New Yorker that I am I will be embracing neutral tones such as black and grey. I also love the idea of toying with a bold color, like red. We… Continue Reading »

The Fashion Sneaker

The Fashion Sneaker

FUN FACT: Over the past two years the search for luxury fashion sneakers surpassed luxury handbags among Lyst.com’s 80 millions users. This past spring I pointed out this new direction in footwear on The Simply Luxurious Life podcast while discussing trends with Shannon not too long ago. You might have noticed the major designers like Gucci and Balenciaga. Even Vogue’s Editior-in-Cheif Anna Wintour is collaborating with Nike. We all know Adidas Stan Smiths were having a moment not too long along, and perhaps they are the ones who kicked off the need for fashionable sneakers. Fast forward to today and the… Continue Reading »

The Summer Kimono

The Summer Kimono

Summer travel is in full swing and I have come to the conclusion that I always over pack. After spending a week and half in New England I realized I only wore a fraction of what I brought. During my trips back home 95% of the time I am in a bathing suit at the beach. Or if I’m not at the beach I prefer the comforts of breezy summer basics. LESSON LEARNED. Cue in the kimono… I love the look and ease of a kimono for the summer.  I can throw it over my bathing suit during the day… Continue Reading »

Shop NYC: HATCH Collection

I was first introduced to the Hatch Collection when I came across a pair of linen-blend pants on Net-a-Porter. HATCH is actually a line designed for during and after pregnancy. It can also be worn by those not expecting (like me!). I admit I was a bit hesitant to order the pants when I found out this was a maternity line. However, the collection is well-designed and doesn’t scream “maternity”. Plus, The pants are super comfortable. Now this is a maternity line you will get your money’s worth since the silhouettes can be worn well after the baby is born…. Continue Reading »

Summer Straw Bags

Summer Straw Bags

If you asked me what this season’s key accessory item is I would say it’s a summer straw bag. A straw bag adds texture and an effortless look to your summer ensembles. The options are endless. I love the new look of the Straw Circle Tote for summer day trips and a fun Straw Clutch for summer cocktail parties. SaveSave

Pajama Sunday | Summer Bucket List

“Summertime is always the best of what might be.” -Charles Bowden It’s officially feels like summer! I decided this summer I’m giving myself a bucket list. There is always so much I want to do and see during the fleeting summer months. I figured if I wrote it down and shared it this will help hold me accountable. Right? Museum Exhibits to see: Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawai’i at New York Botanical Garden Walk This Way: Footwear from Stuart Weitzman Collection of Historic Shoes at New York Historical Society Revisit Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination at The Met. You are probably familiar with the go-to online luxury consignment site The RealReal. Due to popular demand The RealReal opened their first New York City retail store in SoHo at 80 Wooster Street. And let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint. During my first visit to The RealReal I was impressed with the well-designed layout of the store and how it was organized. You will find sections like ‘spring layering’ and such. The RealReal has a great array of high-end of clothing and accessories for women, men and children for a fraction of the retail price. The retail location provides luxury repair… Continue Reading »

Social Graces at The Plaza Hotel

Social Graces at The Plaza Hotel

It’s always been on my list to take a proper etiquette class. Last month my friend and I took Beaumont Etiquette’s Social Graces at The Plaza Hotel with Myka Meier. It was informative and a lot of fun without being stuffy. In the tails of the Royal Wedding I thought it would be fun to share my notes from my evening of social graces. First things first, Ms. Meier made it clear that etiquette is suppose to be fun! Never correct someone on their etiquette. Lead by your actions. We started the evening with a little bit of wine tasting… Continue Reading »
