“Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.” – Nora Ephron
It’s officially nesting season. After a summer full of travel I’m enjoying staying local on the weekends. Strolls through Central Park, bookstore browsing, catching up with friends I haven’t seen all summer…the list goes on and on.
In August I made my first trip to Chicago. I was so excited to visit the windy city. There is a home decor store I have been stalking for years now, Jayson Home. I have lusted after their gorgeous, full page advertisements in the magazines. One of their ads has been pinned to my mood board for years. No joke.
Of course a visit to Jayson Home was on the top of my list. I should mention I was in Chicago for a wedding. As you know, with destination weddings comes a full planned itinerary. I had a free morning on the day of the wedding, however I didn’t allow myself enough time to make it to Jayson Home. I was so close! Literally walking there when I had to turn around and head back to get ready for the ceremony. Needless to say I was devastated.
Don’t worry, this story has a good ending.
When I arrived back to New York after my August hiatus I saw on my Twitter feed that Jayson Home opened up their second location – in SoHo! Isn’t it funny how life can come full circle?
For those of you familiar with Anthropologie’s Terrain in Westport, CT and Glen Mills, PA it has a similar feel. I would say Jayson Home is the modern city dweller’s version of Terrain. I loved every inch of this store.
Welcome to New York, Jayson Home!
