Brides in Colorful Wedding Gowns and Dresses

Brides in Colorful Wedding Gowns and Dresses

Love is in the air! The holidays are what the industry calls “engagement season”. Over the past week I finally had a chance to catch up on a pile of bridal magazines. I was inspired by two weddings I came across where the brides choose to wear color instead of the traditional white gown.

I noticed red is a popular choice of brides – and I LOVE IT. The bride below is a wearing Alexandar McQueen. The couple’s wedding took place in the fall on the rooftop of the Gramercy Park Hotel. Gorgeous! The bride’s vibrant gown shows her taste, class and timeless style. She will look back twenty years from now and still love her look. I like how it’s classy but pushes the envelope of tradition.

Gray is another color I have been seeing on and off the bridal runway, but when I came across this bride in Alexandra Vidal I was SOLD. How stunning is this Seattle bride (and her groom)? Their entire wedding is flawless. You can see more photos of their wedding here.

If you haven’t noticed the options available in bridal are endless. The bridal fashion industry has really exploded over the past few years. There is literally something for everyone. Since I came across those two weddings I have been obsessed researching colorful wedding gowns and dresses. I recently fell in love with this BHLDN Ramona Gown shown below. Blush and pink wedding dresses are easier to come by and are subtle way to add color.

I love the idea of a bride wearing color on her wedding day because she can actually wear it again to another event and style it in a way that doesn’t look like a bride. It’s similar to why I think every bride should treat herself to a new pair of gorgeous shoes on her wedding day –  a pair that she could wear again on other special occasions yet always be reminded of her special day. It’s such a waste when people buy wedding items they won’t wear again. Tisk, tisk!

Would you opt for a colorful wedding dress? Even if you all ready tied the knot, would you consider wearing color if you could do it again? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook
