Tomorrow is the biggest travel day of the year, Thanksgiving Eve. I am bracing myself as we speak. Regardless of the holiday craze and crowds we will endure there is NO excuse for sacrificing style or comfort while traveling. Before you jet off I wanted to share are my suggestions on how to stay comfortable while traveling.
Pick comfortable footwear
Start with your shoes. I swear by Cole Haan’s ZEROGRAND shown below. They look like a classy pair of oxfords, but are comfortable like sneakers and extremely lightweight. I get lots of compliments on them (and no, this is not a Cole Haan sponsored post). Other options are Adidas Stan Smiths or Superstars. Each of these shoe styles are versatile and lightweight.
Choose pants or jeans with STRETCH
Waiting in long lines, sitting for long stretches of time, etc. You should wear pants that have stretch to them. Especially if you are sitting on a plane, bus or train for numerous hours. There is nothing worse than having a constricting waistband digging into you half way through your trip. Also, you avoid annoying wrinkles in your pants when you arrive to your destination.
Wear an oversized coat
When choosing your outwear I would suggest a stylish oversized coat. The temperature is dropping and there is nothing better than feeling snug in an oversized coat. Tight and structured coats can be too restricting after hours of traveling. An oversized coat will feel more like a blanket than a straight jacket. I plan on wearing my oversized Vera Wang coat tomorrow when I embrak on my travels feeling “snug as a bug is in a rug”.
Wishing you safe (and comfortable) travels!
Happy, Happy Thanksgiving!
